The Club has got a minibus - The Oxford Blues Battle Bus!!!

This was purchased from Oxford Brookes University by sponsorship from Ovation Systems Ltd and serviced by Hedges Automotive.

It is a 2.5Litre Diesel that can seat 16 including the driver. At least 4 of those seats would be needed to hold kit bags, so a fully kitted team of 11 players (+driver) would be the most that could fit without using the roof rack.

Its all been kitted out in Logos and signwritting. To justify us having the minibus, its important to get as much use out of it possible. So, please, if you have the choice, take the bus.

You KNOW when the BLUES are in town...!

If you want a lift in the Minibus:

The mini-bus is kept at Ovation Systems' premises. The gate is normally locked evenings and weekends. The key to this lock is with the minibus keys.

It would be appreciated that any one using the minibus should make a voluntary donation to club funds. An amount equal to 5p per mile would be greatly appreciated. Obviously, this donation is NOT a fee or a fare because for the club to charge a fare would invalidate the insurance.

Cars may be parked at Ovation - there is a CCTV security system in place. Do not interfere with any property of Ovation, and do not bang on the building or the windows as this will set off an Alarm linked to the Police!

Booking the Minibus:

The bus is for the Clubs use. This includes parents. But, where the team can be kept together, the players would naturally have priority.

I hope to produce a register of minibus bookings. So to make this work as simply as possible, I would hope that members would book as far as possible in advance for League trips and always let me know if your plans change.

Trips to Farnborough:

In general, Ovation will be the meeting place for picking up.

Aldie intends to be at most Farnborough games and is a experienced minibus driver, so he will usually be the driver. Generally, the bus would leave in time for the first game and return after the last game of the day.

The minibus takes about 75 minutes to get to Farnborough.

Get to the pickup point 15 minutes before departure.

Other tournaments

This is when a battle bus comes into its own! It can be used to attend friendlies, for the ladies to go down to Bisely, or any club related event.

Other Use

The minibus is for the Club's use and insured only for sport's club use. Any other use may not be covered on the insurance. It is not a removals Van!

After using the minibus

It must be filled back up with diesel, and left FULL.
Put the Fuel receipt in the log book and make a note of the date, mileage, driver, fuel purchased, passenger numbers and voluntary donations.
Park back at Ovation Systems Premises
Clean out of all the rubbish.
Leave the gate at Ovation padlocked and generally left as found.

If you want to be able to drive the Mini-Bus:

You must be between 21 and 70 years old for the insurance.

If you passed your driving test after 31 December 1996, then you will have to take the PCV D1 Driving test before you can drive it. You also need to take this test if you want to tow a trailer with it.

You must satisfy the club that you are entitled to drive the minibus by providing sight of your driving license, and a photocopy for our records.
