The Wheatley Park Veterans Tournament - 2003

 

Saturday the 13th of September 2003. 2:00 to 7:00. Wheatley Park Sports centre.

 

First Place- Oxford -

Second place- Ash/Banbury -

Third Place- Ladies -

Forth Place- Gosford -

The tournament was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, made all the better by the clear victory of the boys in blue. Banbury and Ash combined forces in an attempt to do us in, but we were unstoppable! The ladies got a team together to fill in at the last moment (as they did last year as well). They suprised our visiting teams by their gutsy play. The ladies even managed to beat Gosford!

The day was finished off with a barbeque and beer under the clear wheatley skies.

Time didnt allow us to play a final, so the placings were decided on points. BUT Banbury and Ash have challenged us to play the final some time. Watch this space!
