Reply to the review of the Wasps game:-
I was disappointed to read your report of our teams "attitude problem"
I am the goalies dad. I am NOT trying to condone his beheviour but the series of events were quite different to how you describe. In the first minute Wasps nearly scored twic and went one up. Blues equalised and it was a very even game. The Blues second "goal" came after a saved rebound shoy which saw your scorer in the crease. This is an illegal goal. Greg is proud of his position and skills and questoined the eferee who totally blanked him. The captain questoined it and he was blanked too. Minutes later and another carbon copy "goal"
The ref was again approached by Greg and the captain and was totally ignored Greg asked for the rule book to be produced but it was declined. It was supposed to be played to BiSHA rules but with the puck. Maybe this "organisation" doesnt have rules? BiSHA rules do NOT allow a player in the crease to score and so both calls were legitimate. The reffing was inconsistent to say the least throughout the tournament with the rules flaunted at times so players did not know where they were. The ref in question was arrogant and unaproachable. Things were said out of frustration and Greg got 10 minutes. The ref then followed him about, winding him up and then changed the call to 5 minutes. Then he changed his mind again and gave a yellow card. The ref said to our coach "oi, get down here you" which was met with disbelief. He was told to talk to him with respect but repeated his command. Then he sid we could have a change of goalie then he changed his mind and awarded the game and gave our coach a red card.
At no time did the ref want to talk, nor did he show any respect in his attitude or show a knowledge of the rules of the day. Attitude problem? No way. We play professionally to the rules and expect the same from the officials. We showed great character to stay to the end and play the 3rd and 4th place with Greg appologising to the referee. Nuff said on th esubject. Well done to Wakefield who were worthy winners

The rule in question is 8.16.1 This is the rule which you have describe to me on the forum. I wasn't at the game so really have no view on that situation but now the information is here so we know what we are talking about.
8.16.1 Attacking Players are not permitted to be in their opponents Goal Crease unless they are in possession of the ball or the ball is within the Goal Crease before they enter it.
(A Player is inside the Goal crease if any part of their body or equipment except the stick is on or inside the line surrounding the Goal Crease).
PENALTY: For an infringement Free Hit to non-offending Team.
